Travel By Road

Perisher is a comfortable 5 1/2 to 6 hour drive from Sydney, 7 hours from Melbourne and 2 1/2 hours from Canberra.

From Jindabyne it takes just 30 minutes (30 kms) to drive to Perisher. Exit the township taking Kosciuszko Road following the signed route to Perisher.

Please note that all 2WD vehicles are legally required to carry properly fitting chains when driving to Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes and Guthega. These may be hired from various locations in Cooma, Jindabyne and Khancoban.

A National Park entrance gate is located about 15 kms up the Kosciuszko Road at Sawpit Creek, where a national parks pass can be purchased for $27 per vehicle per day, or $190 for an annual all parks pass.

Travel By Skitube

As there is no overnight parking allowed in Perisher Valley (due to snow clearing needing to be carried out overnight in the public car park) it is recommended that guests utilise the Skitube Alpine Railway. This is located at Bullocks Flat, an easy 15 minute drive from Jindabyne on the Alpine Way. There is free parking in a large security patrolled carpark which is below the snowline so chains are not required to be carried and a national parks pass is not required for the vehicle. The Skitube runs every 20-30 minutes during the day, and all night on the hour from 6.00 pm onwards, going directly to Perisher Ski Tube Terminal in 11 minutes. Schedules and fares can be found on Perisher's website www.perisher.com.au.

Sawpit Creek Carpark

There is a public car park 15 kms down the road from Perisher directly behind the National Parks entrance station (so a National Parks pass is required whilst the car is parked there - costs $27 per 24 hours). Snow chains must be carried by all 2WDs. There is a limited bus service during the day which must be pre-booked by phoning John at Jindabyne Motors Alpine Charters on 6456 7340 or 0414 400 378. Cost is $10 one way.

Valet Carparking/Minding Service

This service can be arranged by phoning Mike Taylor on 0412 045 894 and involves Mike meeting you at Jindabyne, coming with you to Perisher and taking your car back to Jindabyne where it is parked in a secure area for the duration of your stay, and then returned to you in Perisher ready for your departure.

Arrival Arrangements

Whether arriving by car, Skitube or bus into Perisher, guests may use a courtesy phone located in the Perisher Ski Tube Terminal (near the Police office) to notify us of your arrival and we will have our snowbus collect you for a short ride to the Chalet.
