Activities Perisher Valley
Local Area
Skiing & Snowboarding
Perisher is the biggest ski area in the Southern Hemisphere, with four interconnected areas (Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Blue Cow and Guthega) covering a massive 1,245 hectares (that’s 12.45 square kilometres), incorporating seven mountain peaks, being serviced by 47 lifts. With over 100 groomed runs, Australia’s only Superpipe, and four ever evolving terrain parks, there really is something for everyone.
Night Skiing/Boarding
From 6.00 – 9.00 pm every Saturday and Tuesday night Front Valley lights up for night skiing and boarding on the Village 8 lift. On selected Saturday nights there are fireworks to enjoy.
Cross Country Skiing
Explore the beautiful Snowy Mountains on over 100kms of marked trails suitable for all standards.
Snow Shoeing
For something different try strapping on some snow shoes and exploring the area by foot. Snow shoes can be hired or purchased in Jindabyne or the Perisher Centre. Guided tours (including night tours) are also available.
Tobogganing
Guests may use the Chalet’s toboggans free of charge or hire them from most of the usual ski hire outlets. A designated toboggan area is located to the right of the carpark, or there are suitable areas right outside the Chalet.
Dining/Shopping
Perisher offers a huge range of dining opportunities on and around the slopes, as well as good service facilities including a post office, medical centre and police. Retail outlets include a supermarket, bottleshop, pharmacy, gift shops, snowgear sales and hire.
